Haemultang (해물탕) is a hearty Korean stew made with a mix of fresh seafood like crab, shrimp, clams, squid, and mussels, simmered in a spicy broth flavored with gochugaru (Korean chili flakes), garlic, and vegetables. Popular in coastal regions like Jeju Island, it’s served bubbling hot and meant to be shared. Paired with rice and side dishes, Haemultang (해물탕) delivers bold, ocean-fresh flavors and comforting heat in every bite.

Seafood Hanjeongsik (해산물 정식) is a traditional Korean set meal centered around a generous variety of fresh seafood. Commonly found in coastal cities like Mokpo, this feast includes dishes such as grilled fish, raw or steamed shellfish, spicy seafood stews, marinated crab (게장), and various seafood banchan (side dishes). Served with rice and soup, all items are brought to the table at once, allowing diners to enjoy a rich combination of flavors, textures, and aromas. More than just a meal, Seafood Hanjeongsik is a full culinary experience that showcases the abundance and diversity of Korea’s coastal cuisine—perfect for seafood lovers seeking an authentic taste of the sea.

Samgyeopsal (삼겹살) is one of Korea’s most popular dishes, made from thick slices of pork belly grilled right at the table. The name literally means “three-layered flesh,” referring to the layers of meat and fat that make it juicy and flavorful. Grilled without seasoning, samgyeopsal is typically eaten wrapped in lettuce with garlic, grilled kimchi, green onion salad, and ssamjang (a spicy dipping sauce). It’s a favorite for group meals, especially with soju, and is a go-to comfort food for many Koreans. Simple yet satisfying, Samgyeopsal is more than a dish—it’s a social experience.

Hotteok (호떡) is a popular Korean street food, especially loved during the colder months. These sweet pancakes are made from a dough filled with a warm mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and crushed nuts, then pan-fried until crispy on the outside and gooey inside. You can often find Hotteok at traditional markets and food stalls across Korea. With its chewy texture and caramelized filling, it’s the perfect snack to enjoy with a hot drink on a chilly day.
